Well. I've been surviving well. I've actually managed to sell a couple things, another old watch (the one Adventurers use) a green bag I made out of some Imperial army scraps... and that's pretty much it. I was about to sell my newest watch, but the deal hasn't gone through yet. Either there has been a huge communications problem or I was getting scammed... I hope it was the first...
I don't actually plan on selling my newest cargo bag like I had planned. It's such a large improvement on my last one that I can't help but use it. Wear it. Personalize it. This has pretty much been my dream bag. I used to think I new what having a nice shoulder bag was like, or a back pack even (yes, this can also be a backpack, groovy). I carry groceries, drawing tools, sewing tools, and pretty much anything else I can use when I leave the house... all. at. the. same. time. SWEET! I'm still not through with it yet. I'm going to completely finish it before I release any pictures of it. But yes, this is a really groovy bag. For an example of it's practicality, I was doing errands today 1, walking in the rain 2, carrying shool tools 3, and carrying groceries from 4 different stores I'd been to. Fan Farquad Tastic
As far as city life has been though, I know my way 'round these areas just dandy. I have found all the routes one can take to get to any of the destinations one wants. If there's a jam or construction, just go another way. May even be faster then before. I still have yet to explore much of the south and ALL of the east, everything on the other side of the river.
In less than a Septacycle I'm heading out of the city to the north for the first time in 2 Duodenocycles. Going to spend a weekend of thanks and delight with the crew of Last. This will be an event-full time. These characters I've only gotten to know through the aether so far. Meet them, eat with them, and I also have some ideas to share with them. I do have shool work that is due after I get back from the journey, so I will work on that vigorously before I leave so that I don't have it to do while I'm up there. I'll take advantage of the vacation as much as I can and do only what I enjoy, within my ability...
On another note, I took apart my first mechanical alarm clock today, didn't really pay attention to how it works except for the ringer mechanism. It was missing a few knobs on the back which didn't allow me to wind it and do a couple other things, so scraping it is the best use of it now. I'm going to use the gears inside to decorate various things, as is fashionable these days. I did learn various use full ways of disassembling it though. So that was productive...
It all kinda reminds me of the power system we have in this apartment. Back at home we only had a small windmill, but it worked well enough to wind up the springs for both the kitchen and our two bedrooms in that little house. A couple appliances were able to be used at a time back at home, but here, we've got quite the apparatus. I can understand why we have all the systems on the roof of this building when I see all the places appliances can be connected in our kitchen and all the other rooms for that matter. And this includes all the appartments in this building! I did take a look at the mechanism the other day though. Incredible is all I can say. It would have taken all the currency both my parents earned for 2 years to come up with enough to purchase this Magnum Opus. Heh! I remember the warning sign on it. It was like the sort you'd see on a lawn mower or the sorts, but instead of the finger being cut it was the whole body. Imagine the sign as a spiral comming out of a box towards a man that's cut in half. Yeah. I can imagine the energy the spring is able to store in that baby....
I wonder how long it is all stretched out...
